Caffe Luxxe was started out of friendship and community, and now as our family has expanded to seven caffes in Southern California, the safety and well-being of our staff and patrons continues to be a top priority. In a time where we're all taking extra measures to protect ourselves against Coronavirus and other illnesses, we wanted to take a moment to share the policies we've implemented to help keep everyone safe.
Employee Sick Leave
To ensure that no one ever needs to risk coming to work sick, Caffe Luxxe has put a pause on our standard sick leave policy, which allots a set number of paid sick days per year; now, any sick days taken during this time will not count toward our employees' annual allocation. Anyone who needs to stay home from illness will get paid for that time off, no questions asked, until further notice. We sincerely hope that our other friends in the coffee business will follow suit with their employees, so that no individual ever feels forced to compromise the health of themselves and others for fear of missing work.
Sanitation & Reusable Cups
Our teams have now increased the frequency of their standard cleaning procedures, and sanitize all public surfaces, at minimum, on an hourly basis. We've also put a temporary pause on allowing customers to bring in their own reusable cups. By only serving out of our own cups, we can ensure that everything being served to the public is sanitized according to our normal health department regulations, and that our baristas are not taking in anything from the public while they're working the bar. We remain greatly committed to our push for greater sustainability, but appreciate your understanding of this temporary measure.
